Springwater Wealth Management Joins Parkwoods Wealth Partners

Springwater Wealth Management has joined Parkwoods Wealth Partners. Springwater is a Lake Oswego, Oregon-based registered investment adviser with over $230 million in assets under advisement as of year-end 2025. The combination closed on April 30, 2026. Springwater’s two principals – Terry Donahe, CFP®, CDFA and Jim Corbeau, MBA, CFP®, CDFA – will join Parkwoods as Senior Wealth Advisors and shareholders.

Adding Springwater extends Parkwoods’ reach into the Pacific Northwest and the West Coast, and continues the firm’s growth as a national advisory practice. Parkwoods now serves clients from offices in St. Louis, Syracuse, Nashville, Carmel and New Castle, Indiana, and Lake Oswego, Oregon, with advisors also based in Austin, Houston, and Los Angeles.

Why Springwater – and why now

Terry and Jim founded Springwater in 2013 around the same principles that guide Parkwoods: independent, fee-only, fiduciary advice built on a planning-first foundation and disciplined, evidence-based investing. Their mission – to help clients live their ideal life and deliver peace of mind –aligns with how Parkwoods approaches Purpose First Planning.

“Welcoming Terry, Jim, and the Springwater team is about shared beliefs first and foremost,” said Al Sears, Founder & CEO of Parkwoods. “They have built a firm whose entire practice begins with the client’s life – not a product or a portfolio. That is exactly how we think about Purpose First Planning. Their long track record of serving independent women and families through major life transitions reflects a depth of planning work that our clients and team will benefit from.”

“For Jim and me, joining Parkwoods is the natural next step in a journey we started more than a decade ago,” said Terry Donahe, CFP®, CDFA, Principal and Co-Founder of Springwater. “We built Springwater to be the kind of firm people could trust – independent, credentialed, and fully committed to doing what is right for the client. Parkwoods shares those values. Joining them gives our clients the depth of a larger team while keeping the advisors and service they already know.”

“What drew us to Parkwoods is how closely our philosophies align,” said Jim Corbeau, MBA, CFP®, CDFA, Principal and Co-Founder of Springwater. “Both firms put robust, personalized planning first and believe investing should be disciplined and evidence-based. That was the foundation on which we built our practice, and it will continue to be the foundation of our work with clients as we move forward together.”

“When a firm like Springwater joins Parkwoods, the client experience stays the same – same advisors, same relationships, same planning-first approach,” said Chris Gardner, CFP®, Head of Advisory at Parkwoods. “What changes is what’s behind the curtain. Springwater’s clients gain the support of a leading national advisory firm with even more resources.”

“This partnership reinforces what we’re building at Parkwoods – a home for advisors who believe in evidence-based investing and want a succession path that protects what they’ve built,” said Kevin Reilly, CFO and Head of M&A at Parkwoods. “Terry and Jim spent years building their practice the right way. Our job is to make sure that work continues.”

Deepening our commitment to Independent Women

Springwater has built a distinct practice serving independent women – including women stepping into new financial responsibilities after loss, divorce, or other major life changes. Both Terry and Jim hold the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® credential, and their work with women navigating these transitions has been a defining part of how they serve clients.

Independent women are already one of Parkwoods’ core focus areas. Bringing Springwater’s experience into that practice adds advisors who do their best work with these clients.

What this means for clients

Clients should expect continuity in their advisor relationships, with Terry and Jim remaining as their primary advisors.

A natural fit, built on shared philosophy

Parkwoods partners with advisors that share a fiduciary mindset and a planning-first approach to working with their clients. Springwater’s addition brings two experienced, credentialed advisors whose approach is a perfect fit with Parkwoods.

For advisors who share this philosophy and are exploring what the next chapter of their practice could look like, we’d welcome that conversation.
