Making Sense of Medicare

What to Know Before This Year’s Enrollment Window Opens

Medicare open enrollment opens October 15, and even people who’ve been through it before find the choices confusing – which parts cover what, when you’re allowed to make changes, and what happens if you miss a deadline.

In this 30-minute session, Parkwoods Chief Investment Officer Bob French, CFA, is joined by Bruce Tunze, a Medicare specialist with 30 years in the insurance industry, to walk through the enrollment periods, the different parts of Medicare, and the coverage decisions in front of you.

We discuss:

  • When the enrollment periods are, and what each one actually allows you to do
  • The different parts of Medicare – A, B, C, and D – and what each one covers
  • How income can affect what you pay for Medicare, and what to know about IRMAA before you enroll
  • What’s changing with prescription drug coverage in 2027, and what it means for your out-of-pocket costs

The goal is simple: to help you walk into open enrollment with a clear understanding of your options, rather than trying to sort it out under a deadline.
